Why did you join UP!?: There was a sudden rash of overdoses in Lewis County and several residents wanted to form a group that attempted to do something about it. It’s Real & It’s Local began in Southern Lewis County and was successful at getting information into the public. United Prevention has provided a resource to continue and extend that endeavor.
What are some positive things for the youth in this community?: There are numerous volunteer opportunities that not only meet a need but also provide a positive outlet for youth entertainment. Example: The Humane Society, Youth Groups, Double Play Community Center, various sports, not to mention our school, which hav too many school activities to list.
What are some changes you wish to see in the community?: There is a culture of acceptance as far as alcohol and marijuana use are concerned.
What does the word “COMMUNITY” mean to you? All of the people that know about and care about the people in their circle. Different people have different sizes of circles, but I love how UP! has made my community grow to now encompass all of Lewis County
What is your favorite season?: I like them all. Variety is the spice of life.
If you could have one super power, what would you choose?: I do have a super power. It cannot be disclosed.
What words of wisdom would you pass on to your childhood self?: You have no idea what is in store for you. It will be wonderful. Be strong. Hard work does pay off.
What’s your favorite book you have ever read?: Notes From The Tilt-A-Whirl by N.D. Wilson
Who is your personal hero? Why? There are so many people in my life that I admire. I strive to find the heroic character in every person and attempt to emulate that in my life.
